After a hesitant start, the electoral process aimed at transferring power to elected officials in Haiti is now underway.
The decree serving as the electoral law has been published after corrections and additions. The election budget has been adopted jointly by the Provisional Electoral Council and the Fils-Aimé government. The dates for the two rounds and the proclamation of the final results are now known.
On paper, Haiti has embarked on the process and is heading toward its first elections in ten years.
