The definitive end of Temporary Protected Status (TPS) on Monday, July 27, 2026, has plunged more than 350,000 Haitians living on U.S. soil into uncertainty, as they are now without legal status. The U.S. Supreme Court’s decision to allow the U.S. administration to permanently terminate this status, which was granted to Haitians following the January 12, 2010 earthquake, offers little hope of a TPS renewal in a context of restrictive immigration policies pursued by President Donald Trump.
