World Cup 2026: The Anthems Created to Celebrate Haiti’s National Team

As the 2026 World Cup approaches, more than thirty Haitian artists have released songs to accompany the historic return of the Grenadiers, absent from the tournament since 1974.

More than thirty songs in just a few weeks. That is the response of Haitian artists to the Grenadiers’ return to the World Cup, their first appearance since 1974. Last March, the Ministry of Culture and Communication organized a competition with a prize of one million gourdes to select an official anthem, but the jury did not choose a winner. Independent artists, however, did not wait.
