The 28th edition of the Haitian Compas Festival will be held this year at NoMI Village, in North Miami, at the heart of the Haitian community established in the city. Usually organized in downtown Miami, the festival was relocated in order to reassure the public amid concerns related to operations conducted by agents of the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), according to Rodrigue Alcindor, one of the event’s organizers.
