As the deployment of the Gang Suppression Force (FRG) approaches, the UNICEF Representative in Haiti, Geetanjali Narayan, did not rule out the possibility of discussions with gangs in order to secure the release of children trapped within armed groups.

“Everything is possible to free the children. We no longer want children in armed groups. That is the objective,” Ms. Narayan stated during an exchange with journalists from several media outlets on Friday, February 13, 2026, on the sidelines of a workshop.
