Danaxon Joachim Wins Doctoral Thesis Award in France

A former student of the Faculty of Human Sciences (FASCH) at the State University of Haiti (UEH), Danaxon Joachim has been awarded the 2025 Academic Prize of the Doctoral School of Human Sciences, Letters and Literature at the University of Grenoble Alpes (UGA). This award recognizes his dissertation defended in December 2024, entitled: “Producing Information on Haiti in a Context of Insecurity (2019-2024): Uses of WhatsApp, Access to Sources, and Reconfigurations of Journalistic Work.”

“This prize is a highly respected recognition in the academic field and brings real value to my curriculum vitae. [...] However, the news was not a surprise to me, as obtaining the award represents the logical culmination of a journey,” recounts Danaxon Joachim, who did not hide his confidence in being able to win the prize.
