The metropolitan region has been plunged into darkness since the beginning of the week. The reason? Acts of sabotage that occurred at the Péligre hydroelectric plant. With the plant now out of operation, the E-Power company, with only about twenty megawatts, according to a source within the Electricity of Haiti (EDH), is unable by itself to launch and power the grid. Additionally, the other thermal power plants are shut down, either due to malfunctions or lack of fuel, a source noted.
