U.S. Allocates $33 Million for School Meals in Haiti Through WFP

The United States Embassy in Port-au-Prince, through the U.S. Department of Agriculture, has granted $33 million to the World Food Programme (WFP) to provide hot meals to approximately 75,000 Haitian students in pre-school and primary schools in the North and Northeast departments between 2024 and 2028, as stated in a press release on Monday, November 13, 2023.

This new donation comes from the McGovern-Dole International Food for Education and Child Nutrition Program (MGD) and aims to increase school enrollment and retention rates,
