On Friday, March 12, 2021, the first major operation by the Haitian National Police (PNH) units aimed at dislodging an armed criminal group ends in a bloodbath and a fiasco for law enforcement.

On that day, in Village-de-Dieu, south of Port-au-Prince, the best-trained units of the PNH fall into an ambush, despite all the resources made available to them.

Five police officers are killed: Ariel Poulard, Désilus Wislet, Eugène Stanley, Georges Renois Vivender, and Lucdor Pierre.

Several other police officers are injured. Armor
