Port-au-Prince Resumes Criminal Court Sessions with Seven Trials After Eight Years

Criminal jury trials resumed on Monday, July 27, 2026, in the Port-au-Prince judicial district, bringing an end to eight years without criminal trials before a jury. Held on the premises of the Specialized Judicial Units in Fragneau-Ville (Delmas 75), the hearings drew a large crowd of students, attorneys, relatives of the parties and curious onlookers, who filled the two courtrooms made available to the court.
