Dany Laferrière Engages in Discussion With Young People at the DNL

Dany Laferrière made his first public appearance in Haiti on Tuesday, July 14, during an event organized at the National Book Directorate (DNL), located at 320 Route de Bourdon in Port-au-Prince. The writer, a member of the French Academy and winner of the Prix Médicis for The Return (L'Énigme du retour), had not returned to the country since 2019. Before an audience of dozens of young people, he engaged in an extended discussion about his career as a writer, his relationship with Haiti, and his mor
