U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations, Mike Waltz, paid a visit to Port-au-Prince. The second-highest-ranking U.S. diplomat held working meetings on Wednesday, July 8, and Thursday, July 9, 2026. According to a government source contacted by Le Nouvelliste, Ambassador Waltz’s visit was part of efforts to secure the renewal of the Gang Suppression Force (GSF) mandate.
