A Sri Lankan contingent arrived in Port-au-Prince overnight from Wednesday to Thursday to join the Gang Suppression Force (GSF). According to a government source contacted by Le Nouvelliste, the contingent consists of 300 Sri Lankan officers.
“The deployment of troops will continue until we reach the target of 5,500 personnel. Next month, Ivorian troops will arrive. Additional equipment will also be delivered in the coming days,” the source told Le Nouvelliste.
