The Fondasyon Je Klere (FJKL) is sounding the alarm over the decree adopted on December 18, 2025, by the Transitional Presidential Council (CPT) “regulating the exercise of freedom of expression and providing for the prevention and repression of defamation and press offenses.”

In an analytical report made public on January 15, 2026, the human rights organization considers that this text constitutes a serious threat to the democratic gains of February 7, 1986, and calls for its outright withdrawal.
