As announced by the Ministry of National Education and Vocational Training (MENFP), Wednesday, October 1, 2025, was set as the official reopening date for schools throughout the national territory. This first day, far from being a success, was marked by very low student turnout.
On the streets of Delmas and Pétion-Ville, those wearing uniforms were few and far between on Wednesday morning. Inside the classrooms, the observation was similar—at least in most of the schools visited.
