The Dominican government did not mince words in its protest against the construction of a canal on the Haitian side of the Massacre River. This Monday, a series of measures were announced after a meeting of the National Security Council, convened by Dominican President Luis Abinader. These measures include the suspension of visa issuance services to Haitians, the closure of the border, and the threat of shutting down air traffic between the only two countries that share the island.
