La Providence Hospital of Gonaïves Achieves University Hospital Status

La Providence Hospital of Gonaïves has been recognized as a university hospital, according to a circular published on September 18, 2026, by the Ministry of Public Health and Population (MSPP), signed by Minister Dr. Bertrand Sinal. The facility will now be able to host resident doctors in various specialties, according to the quotas and terms set by the MSPP, in consultation with its management and the Faculty of Medicine and Pharmacy (FMP) of the State University of Haiti (UEH). The MSPP makes this decision in a context where the number of candidates for medical residency far exceeds the available positions. The ministry thus intends to gradually expand training opportunities to other hospitals capable of hosting resident doctors.<\/p>
