The heavy rains that have lashed the Southeast department over the past three days have resulted in three deaths and one missing person. The victims, identified as Lovelie Casemir, 18 years old, Jeanjean, in his twenties, and Chamaella Moïse, 13 years old, were swept away by the waters in Côtes-de-Fer and Thiotte. The severe weather has also caused significant agricultural losses, particularly in Côtes-de-Fer and the Gosseline communal section in Jacmel. In response to this situation, the Departmental Directorate of Civil Protection continues its assessments and awareness-raising actions, while several damaged roads remain difficult to access. Emergency interventions are particularly recommended to support affected families and impacted farmers.
