Russia "welcomed" the re-election of leftist Brazilian President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva for an unprecedented fourth term in Brazil on Monday.<\/p>
"We welcome Mr. Lula's victory," said Kremlin spokesperson Dmitri Peskov during a daily press briefing attended by AFP, praising the Brazilian president's efforts "not only for the development of bilateral relations" with Russia, but also for the continuation of cooperation processes "on the international stage."<\/p>
