This morning, on Avenue Lamartinière, Port-au-Prince, two large metal bins installed by the Port-au-Prince municipality overflow with rubbish. These structures are surrounded by all sorts of garbage, accumulating over the hours.
Despite this heap, people continue to dump various household waste onto the asphalt and near the vendors displaying their products on trestles along the sidewalks.
Amidst the debris, scrap collectors sort through what they can salvage. Dogs are also rummaging through the pile in search of leftover food.
