The government redefines the organization and missions of the MAEC

In a decree published in the official journal Le Moniteur on August 31, 2026, the government sets the organization and functioning of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Worship (MAEC). The text specifies that the responsibilities of the ministry are not limited to diplomatic relations and assigns it the implementation of the country's foreign policy, the development of relations with other states and international institutions, as well as the defense of Haiti's interests and its nationals. The MAEC is also responsible for coordinating the state's actions in international relations and managing agreements with churches and religious organizations.<\/p>
