Haiti is under threat from tropical wave 38, which exposes the departments of South, Southeast, West, Center, and Artibonite to heavy rain, stated Emmanuel Pierre, director general of the Civil Protection Directorate (DPC), invited to Panel Magik on Monday, August 31, 2026.<\/p>

In this regard, Mr. Pierre indicated that a yellow alert has been issued due to the risk of heavy rain in the affected departments. The director general of the DPC specified that the concerned regions could receive between "100 mm and 200 mm of rain," with winds reaching up to 80 km/h and thunderstorms.<\/p>
