The American president denied on Tuesday any interference in the affairs of French-speaking Canadians, as Ottawa accused Washington of wanting to undermine the status of the French language in trade negotiations between the two neighbors.
"I would never meddle in the affairs of French-speaking Canadians," assured Donald Trump, denouncing on his Truth Social platform a "lie" by Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney to secure support from Quebec.
