The Ministry of Planning and External Cooperation (MPCE) and the Ministry of the Environment (MDE) launched, on August 19, 2026, in Pétion-Ville, a high labor intensity work program (HIMO), financed by the revised budget 2025-2026. This pilot project, coordinated by the MPCE and implemented by the SNGRS, aims to create temporary jobs for 1,000 to 2,000 families, in support of expenses related to the school year starting on September 7, according to a statement from the MPCE. The Minister of Planning, Sandra Paulemon, highlighted the expected impact on youth and parents, while the Minister of the Environment, Valéry Fils-Aimé, emphasized the need for coordinated action from public institutions, the statement said. The first interventions began in Delmas and Pétion-Ville, combining public space sanitation, job creation, and support for families.<\/p>
