A ceremony was held this Thursday, May 14, at the Rock Cadet hall, at the initiative of the Superior Council of the Judiciary (CSPJ), to officially hand over appointment and mandate renewal commissions to 58 justices of the peace as well as 62 judges from courts of first instance and courts of appeal. The appointment of these new magistrates strengthens the Haitian judicial system, which has for several years faced a severe shortage of judges capable of effectively ensuring this essential public service.
