Donald Trump is preparing to meet next week in China with his counterpart Xi Jinping, who could be tempted to use his influence over Iran to extract concessions from the American president.

Along with Russia, China is one of Iran’s main allies, absorbing 80% of its oil exports before the war. Beijing has continuously condemned the Israeli-American offensive since the beginning of the strikes against Iran on February 28.
