After nearly three years of silence, the Episcopal Church of Haiti has decided to speak out publicly to demand the release of its priests and lay members, who remain detained despite several judicial decisions confirming their innocence. The priests and laypersons are incarcerated in connection with the case involving the transport of weapons, ammunition, and counterfeit money imported into Haitian territory in the name of the said Church, and intercepted by the judicial police on July 14, 2022, at the Port-au-Prince customs office.
