Between personal vocation, on-the-ground realities, and the needs of the health system, choosing a specialty remains a delicate step for medical students in Haiti. Medical training is indeed facing a growing imbalance between the number of students and the limited availability of specialties in the country. While certain fields such as pediatrics, internal medicine, or general surgery attract the majority of young doctors, other essential areas remain underrepresented.
