Emmanuel Damas, 56, a Haitian man who had been detained for months in an immigrant detention center in Arizona, died Monday in a hospital after an untreated dental infection, the man’s brother said Wednesday, according to the Associated Press.

Emmanuel Damas had reported to the medical staff at the Florence Correctional Center that he was suffering from a toothache in mid-February, but he was never sent to see a dentist, said his brother, Presly Nelson.
