U.S. Congress Adopts New Legislation Aimed at Haitian Gangs and Their Networks

The U.S. Congress has passed the Haiti Criminal Collusion Transparency Act as part of the National Defense Authorization Act, which, once signed by President Donald Trump, will require the U.S. government to investigate members of Haiti’s political and economic elites who have collaborated with violent gangs, report on these findings, and impose sanctions on those found guilty, the Miami Herald reported on Thursday, December 18, 2025.
