Exclusive Breastfeeding and Complementary Feeding: Weapons Against Child Malnutrition

In Croix-des-Bouquets, the Foyer Saint-Camille Hospital does more than provide curative care. From the maternity ward onward, mothers are educated on the importance of exclusive breastfeeding during the first six months, before being guided in establishing appropriate complementary feeding up to the age of two. In partnership with UNICEF with funding from the European Union’s ECHO, the hospital also organizes cooking demonstration sessions and hands-on workshops, combining learning with nutritional guidance to prevent child malnutrition and strengthen the role of parents in their children’s health.
