Formed in March 2010 in Miami, Disip marks a decisive stage in the career of the singer, born Gasman Pierre on August 22, 1966, in Gonaïves. Orphaned of his father at the age of four, he grew up with his mother, Anociade Saint-Juste, in a football-loving family where his elder brother, Sonche Pierre, became coach of the national team. Forced to leave Haiti for the United States at age eight due to political instability, he turned definitively to music after a knee injury in 1995 ended a promising sports career. Cofounder of D’Zine
