MEF Extends Tax Deadlines to Assist Taxpayers

In a memorandum addressed to the General Directorate of Taxes (DGI), the Ministry of Economy and Finance (MEF) announced on April 22, 2024, a measure aimed at relieving taxpayers of the current economic constraints. This initiative aims to extend the deadline for payment of certain taxes for the fiscal year 2023-2024.

Tax fields such as the Built Property Tax (CFPB) and the land lease, whose legal due date was originally set for March 31, 2024, now have a new deadline of June 30, 2024. The business license tax (patente) is also part of this list of taxes affected by the Ministry of Economy and Finance (MEF) extension measure. While the legal due date for the business license tax was set for December 15, 2023, it has been extended until June 30, 2024, according to the memorandum.
