Around 13,000 Haitians were forcibly repatriated by neighboring states in March 2024 despite the catastrophic humanitarian and security situation, highlighted the International Organization for Migration on Thursday.

This represents a 46% increase compared to the previous month, stated the IOM in a statement.

"For most Haitians, the prospect of regular migration remains an insurmountable obstacle, leaving irregular migration as the only semblance of hope," the organization said.
